Kevin Biegel, showrunner on Cougar Town, shares an anecdote about Courteney Cox directing episode 3x04 (1:30):

We gave her the script and she looked at it over the weekend and then she said to me, “Yeah, you know, David and I were looking at it so I could kind of storyboard out my shots.” And I said, “Oh, that’s cool, David Arquette.” You know, whatever. And she’s like, “No, no, you know David who’s finishing with Dragon Tattoo.” So Courteney and David FINCHER storyboarded out some of the shots that you saw in that episode. So, technically David Fincher directed Cougar Town which is fucking the coolest thing in the world!
